Amgen and the Amgen Foundation

Each year, Amgen provides substantial financial support and product donations, committed to making a positive difference in people's lives. Amgen's corporate philanthropy programs cover a wide range of areas, including research grants and scholarships, medical education support, cash, product and equipment donations, community building through corporate sponsorship, and personal donations and volunteer services from employees.

The Amgen Foundation is committed to reshaping and expanding accessibility to science education. As the main arm of Amgen's philanthropic endeavors, the Foundation collaborates with major nonprofit organizations and universities to provide world-class science education programs free of charge to faculty and students, aiming to enhance public scientific literacy and unleash the potential of a new generation of innovative talent.

Since 1990, the Amgen Foundation has donated $500 million to nonprofit organizations worldwide, with more than $300 million specifically allocated to science education.

Amgen Foundation's projects in China

In China, the Amgen Foundation has collaborated with Tsinghua University for many years on the "Amgen Scholars" program.

Amgen Scholars

The Amgen Scholars program is an international initiative that aims to inspire innovative thinking in future scientific talents by funding outstanding undergraduate students with a strong interest in life sciences and biotechnology to undertake 8-10 week research internships at leading educational and research institutions worldwide during the summer. Providing financial aid to students is a core element of the program, ensuring that eligible students, regardless of their family income, have the opportunity to participate.

LabXchange

funded by the Amgen Foundation and developed by Harvard University, LabXchange is a free online science learning platform for middle school, high school, and university students and teachers, offering personalized instruction, virtual lab experiences, and opportunities to connect with the global science community.
